Absolutely simple approach with the script and a likable blend of comedy, boo-thrills and suspense makes ‘Yaamirukka Bayamey’ a good time-pass. Running just under 2 hours, ‘Yaamirukka Bayamey’ starts off lame, but quickly gets its acts together to keep you laughing and riveted to your seats (with some tense moments) in equal turns.

A Scooby-Doo-ish humorous take on the ghosts and things paranormal is a refreshing welcome to Tamil cinema. Never taking itself too seriously, ‘Yaamirukka Bayamey’, constantly mocks the horror genre (and the audience) with funny twists to stock ghost movie tricks. Not to be taken lightly either, YB has some genuinely chilling horror moments too.

Director Deekay’s trust in his slightly offbeat (for a scary movie) presentation and a minor league cast is to be commended for pulling off an entertaining ghost movie, which is a tough sell in Tamil. It’s an unpretentiously predictable, sweet movie that is well worth your time.
